FAQ's

What kind of PVC pipe fittings are there?

Types of PVC pipe fittings: There are many types, including:

Elbows: Change the direction of the pipe (90-degree, 45-degree, etc.).

Couplings: Connect two straight pipe sections.

Tees: Create a three-way branch in the pipe run.

Reducers: Connect pipes of different diameters.

Caps: Seal the end of a pipe run.

Unions: Allow for easy connection/disconnection for maintenance.

What is the difference between regular PVC pipe fittings and PVC manifold fittings?

Regular PVC pipe fittings come in various shapes like elbows, tees, and couplings, allowing for customized pipe layouts with turns, branches, and flow control. They typically connect using solvent cement for a permanent bond, although some types offer threaded connections.

On the other hand, PVC manifold fittings consolidate multiple connection points into a single unit. Imagine a multi-port hub – that's a manifold. These are ideal when you need to efficiently connect several pipes from a single source, like feeding different irrigation zones or connecting multiple fixtures in plumbing. Manifold fittings usually rely on threaded connections for easier assembly and disassembly compared to solvent-cemented regular fittings.
