The 4 Zone pre-assembled 113 Rack Kit with 4 RN 155 AC solenoid valves speeds up the installation time of the valve box and reduces system maintenance time, as well as keeping the valve box clean and tidy at all times. In addition to the 113 rack and 4x155 1" MxUN 24VAC solenoid valves, the kit includes a 4-outlet Manifold, a cap, and the positioning grid. Compatible with the EZ-Open PZRM 113 valve box with patented handle. Ideal for systems with flow rates from 25 l/min to 70 l/min.

Features

24 Vac Solenoid

The controllers control 24 Vac normally closed solenoids. The control unit will supply the solenoid with a 24 Vac electrical signal for the entire irrigation time to open the electrovalve.

9 Vdc Solenoid

Battery-operated controllers control 9Vdc latching solenoids. The control unit will send an electrical signal at the start of irrigation to open the solenoid valve and a signal at the end of irrigation to close the solenoid valve.

Manifold system

The patented Rain Manifold System allows easy installation of solenoid valves and during valve box maintenance allows quick removal of the solenoid valve.

Wall Mounted

Rain's patented Rack start kit can be installed in the valve box or mounted on the wall of utility rooms, simplifying the maintenance of the irrigation system.

What does a solenoid valve do in an irrigation system?

A solenoid valve acts like a switch for water flow in irrigation. When activated by an irrigation controller, it opens an internal passage, allowing water to flow to a specific zone (sprinklers, drip system) and closes when shut off by the controller, stopping water flow.

What is a solenoid valve diaphragm used for?

In a solenoid valve, the diaphragm is a crucial component that acts as a barrier between the control mechanism (electrical coil) and the fluid being controlled (water, air, etc.). It has two main functions:

Sealing: The diaphragm separates the pressurised fluid from the electrical components of the valve. This prevents water damage to the coil and ensures a safe electrical operation.

Controlling Flow: The diaphragm moves based on the energising or de-energising of the solenoid coil. When energised, the coil creates a magnetic field that pulls the diaphragm open, allowing fluid to flow through the valve. Conversely, when de-energised, the magnetic field collapses, and a spring or fluid pressure pushes the diaphragm back to its closed position, stopping the flow.
