What is a relief valve and what does it do?

In irrigation systems, a relief valve, also called a pressure relief valve (PRV), acts as a safety guard against pressure spikes. Here's how it protects your irrigation system:

Prevents Damage: Imagine your irrigation system as a network of pipes. When water pressure builds beyond a safe limit, the relief valve acts like a release valve. It opens and diverts excess water, preventing pipe bursts, sprinkler head damage, and potential leaks.
